xAI's Grok 4.6 lands on Amazon Bedrock
xAI just made its latest flagship model, Grok 4.6, generally available on Amazon Bedrock. Built for long-running agents and complex visual workflows, it features a massive 500K context window and configurable reasoning levels from low to extra high. Developers in supported AWS regions can now integrate it directly into their enterprise pipelines.

Amazon Bedrock just added another heavyweight to its AI lineup.
xAI's latest flagship model, Grok 4.6, is now generally available on Amazon Bedrock for all developers across supported AWS regions.
Long context and flexible reasoning
xAI built Grok 4.6 specifically for long-running autonomous agents, interactive workflows, and visual tasks.
The model boasts a massive 500k-token context window. It also introduces configurable reasoning effort levels, letting developers toggle between low, medium, high, and extra high depending on task complexity.
Pricing is set at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens via the standard Bedrock interface.
Why it matters
For enterprise developers, this eliminates the friction of dealing with separate xAI billing, dedicated APIs, or security approvals. You can now test xAI's best model directly inside your existing AWS stack, access controls, and compliance boundaries.
For AWS, it reinforces Bedrock's position as a vendor-neutral hub rather than a walled garden. Even with Anthropic deeply embedded in the ecosystem, Amazon is making sure developers can shop around.
We think the configurable reasoning tiers are a smart move for agent builders trying to keep token costs under control. However, Grok will still have to prove its reliability against established enterprise favorites like Claude before teams hand it mission-critical production workloads.
