Google's Pomelli gets agent powers to build brand books and sites
Google Labs just rolled out new agentic capabilities to Pomelli, its AI suite for small businesses. Users can now chat with the Pomelli Agent or upload photos and docs to lock down their "Business DNA," then spin up full brand books and publish complete websites in a few clicks. It turns scattered marketing chores into an automated workflow.

Setting up a brand identity and a website from scratch has always been a painful bottleneck for small businesses. Google Labs is trying to solve that by rolling out agentic capabilities to Pomelli, its AI suite for small and medium-sized enterprises.
From Business DNA to a live website
Launched last year in Google Labs, Pomelli has already produced millions of product shots, social campaigns, and ads. The latest update introduces the Pomelli Agent, an assistant designed to establish what Google calls your Business DNA.
Users can upload product photos and documents, or simply chat with the agent to shape their brand identity from scratch.
Once that foundation is set, Pomelli unlocks two major tools. It can generate comprehensive brand books with tailored imagery, fonts, and color palettes. It also features an automated website builder that lets users design and deploy a complete site in just a few clicks.
Why it matters
For bootstrapped founders and solopreneurs, hiring design agencies or wrestling with website builders is expensive and slow. Pomelli condenses that workflow into a single conversation, making it well worth testing right now in Google Labs.
Strategically, we think Google is being smart by grounding its agent tech in tangible small-business utility rather than open-ended demos. By anchoring content generation to a persistent brand identity, it solves the consistency problem that plagues raw prompt generation.
That said, the real test will be output quality. One-click websites can easily look generic, and it remains to be seen whether these automated brand guides are distinct enough to help a business truly stand out.
