Google shows Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite generating websites on the fly

Published Reach 49

Google DeepMind just showed off Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite generating entire websites in real time. Instead of serving pre-built pages, the demo browser builds each screen dynamically as you click and search. It is an impressive showcase of how fast and responsive lightweight models have become.

Browsing the web usually means fetching pre-made files from a server. Google DeepMind just showed off a wild alternative: generating entire pages on demand, the exact millisecond you click.

Pages built on the fly

Google DeepMind demonstrated its lightweight Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite model powering a dynamic web generation showcase.

The experimental showcase browser builds each page in real time as users click, search, and navigate. There are no pre-built templates or static pages stored behind the scenes. It acts as an on-the-fly rendering engine driven purely by the lightweight model, highlighting rapid speed and responsiveness. Google has also made the demo publicly available for anyone to test.

Why it matters

We think this is less about flashy design and more about raw inference speed reaching a real turning point. If a lightweight model can spin up functional interfaces fast enough that users barely notice a lag, the line between static web browsing and generative software begins to blur.

It proves that smaller models can handle latency-critical jobs remarkably well. Still, generating an entire page on every single interaction eats up compute quickly, and keeping content accurate without guardrails remains a major hurdle before this could ever replace traditional browsing.
