Waiting a full minute for a batch of four images to render is starting to feel ancient.

Freepik just rolled out the latest version of its AI Image Generator to the public, bringing real-time rendering and an infinite scroll feed directly into the image creation workflow.

Real-time rendering meets infinite scroll

The Malaga-based creative platform, already known for its massive asset library, is leaning hard into ultra-fast generative tech. With the new update, users can turn simple text prompts into photorealistic images almost instantly.

The standout feature is infinite scroll paired with one-click variations. Instead of restarting the prompt queue, you can generate endless alternatives of the same concept on the fly, tweaking colors, characters, and environments seamlessly.

The tool also packs pre-made artistic styles, permutation prompts, and flexible aspect ratio controls. Freepik previously launched its real-time Sketch to Image and Reimagine tools, and the company says users are now generating over 1 million images daily.

On the access front, free users get up to 20 image generations per day with limited styles and no infinite scroll. Paying subscribers get unrestricted access to the real-time engine and the full feature suite.

Why it matters

For designers, marketers, and content creators, zero-latency image generation completely changes the ideation phase. Instead of treating AI generation like a formal request you wait on, you can treat it like an interactive mood board, rapidly testing visual directions in seconds.

Freepik's strategy here looks very sharp. Rather than trying to beat frontier models purely on bespoke aesthetic perfection, it is optimizing for pure velocity and friction-free user experience. Linking fast generation directly to its existing commercial asset ecosystem keeps creators inside its walled garden.

The real test will be whether rival image platforms adopt similar real-time feeds. Once creators get used to instant visual iteration, waiting for slow generation queues will feel like dial-up internet.
