Freepik adds audio to its AI video generator

Published Reach 31

Freepik just launched AI video generation with sound directly inside its AI Suite, supporting multiple modes and formats. Instead of generating silent clips and hunting for soundtracks in separate apps, creators can now get complete audiovisual clips in a single workflow.

AI video generators have spent the last year blowing minds visually, but most of them still left you with an awkward, silent clip that needed extra work in an editor.

Freepik is aiming to change that inside its creative toolkit.

Video and sound in one pass

Freepik announced that users can now generate AI videos with sound directly inside its AI Suite, supporting any mode and format.

The team at Magnific, which Freepik acquired, highlighted the rollout on X, telling users to turn their audio up to get the full audio-visual demo experience.

Why it matters

We think the AI video race is rapidly pivoting from visual fidelity to workflow convenience. Content creators do not want half-baked silent clips that require hunting down background tracks elsewhere; they want publishable assets right out of the prompt.

While baking audio into the pipeline saves immediate editing time, it remains to be seen whether the generated sound delivers contextual sound effects or just generic background music.
