ElevenLabs levels up AI tracks with Music v2
ElevenLabs just released Music v2, bringing noticeable upgrades to vocals, instrumentation, and arrangement across every genre. The new model also expands multilingual capabilities and unlocks creative options previously impossible in the first version. AI music generation just got significantly sharper and more global.
If you've ever tried generating music with AI, you know the biggest headache isn't making a catchy beat. It's asking the model to fix one weak lyric in the bridge, only to watch it completely rewrite the entire song.
ElevenLabs just launched Music v2, an overhauled music generation model that brings dramatic improvements to vocals, instrumentation, and multilingual tracks across all genres.
Surgical track editing comes to AI music
Instead of treating a song like an uneditable black box, Music v2 introduces granular inpainting. You can highlight any specific section of a track and regenerate just that slice, tweaking a bridge while leaving the chorus and intro untouched.
Musicians can also compose complete songs section by section. You can start with an intro, build out verses, drop in the chorus, and maintain structural coherence all the way through.
The model can handle extreme stylistic leaps within a single track, shifting from opera to heavy metal, nailing rapid-fire rap deliveries, and weaving ambient sound effects directly into the mix without falling apart.
Alongside the launch, ElevenLabs slashed pricing by up to 50% for ElevenAPI and up to 40% for ElevenCreative self-serve users. The model is live today on ElevenMusic and ElevenCreative, with API access rolling out soon.
Why it matters
While Suno and Udio turned AI music generation into a viral consumer playground, ElevenLabs is taking dead aim at professional media production.
Commercial sync licensing has historically been a legal minefield of fees and slow clearances. By building Music v2 through partnerships with artists, labels, and publishers like Believe, ElevenLabs gives brands commercially cleared audio without sync fees.
For creators and ad agencies, the combination of surgical inpainting and steep price cuts makes this worth testing right away. Instead of rolling the dice on one-shot generations, you can actually direct a production section by section.
We think ElevenLabs is making a very sharp strategic play here. They aren't trying to win on pure novelty; they are solving workflow friction and licensing headaches that keep enterprise dollars on the sidelines.
