ElevenLabs just built talking AI avatars into ElevenCreative

Published Reach 40

ElevenLabs just launched Avatars in ElevenCreative, letting creators turn scripts into lip-synced talking-head videos inside a single interface. Users can create persistent visual identities from photos or prompts, keep characters consistent across scenes, and batch-produce videos through Flows.

Anyone who makes AI talking-head videos knows the drill: you generate pristine audio in ElevenLabs, download the file, open a separate video app, pick an avatar, wait for lip-sync rendering, and pray the cadence doesn't look off. Change one word, and you start over.

ElevenLabs just streamlined that entire pipeline into one window. The company rolled out Avatars inside its ElevenCreative suite, combining its flagship speech models with lip-sync video generation under a single roof.

Voice and video in one prompt box

Until now, generating a talking clip inside ElevenCreative felt clunky. You had to navigate through image and video tabs, filter through lip-sync models, and manually route audio into a video generator.

Avatars collapses that process into a single tab. You pick an avatar, type your script, select a voice, and hit generate. Because ElevenLabs owns the underlying voice models, the audio generation and lip-syncing run inside the same environment. The company says native integration yields tighter mouth-to-voice synchronization than workflows relying on imported audio files.

The avatars themselves are designed to be persistent. You can build a character identity from reference photos of a person, an illustration, or even an animal—or prompt one from scratch. These assets stay pinned in your library and act as a consistent character sheet across different camera angles, outfits, and backgrounds.

Automated pipelines with Flows

ElevenLabs also plugged the new capability into its automated workflow engine, Flows, by introducing a dedicated Avatar node.

Instead of rendering videos one by one, teams can build automated pipelines. You drop in a product brief, and the system can generate the script, synthesize voiceovers across multiple languages, and output dozens of avatar-led variations in batch.

For performance marketing teams hunting for winning ad hooks, or course creators producing localized video series, it turns avatar creation into an automated batch job. The feature is available today to all paid ElevenLabs subscribers, complete with a starter library of pre-built avatars.

Why it matters

ElevenLabs is systematically eating away at the need for third-party video wrappers.

For years, dedicated avatar platforms like HeyGen built empires by piping ElevenLabs audio into synthetic faces. Now that ElevenLabs offers native, persistent avatars directly alongside its industry-leading voice engine, moving files between tools feels increasingly redundant. Consolidating the speech and video layers under one roof gives ElevenLabs a massive distribution edge.

For creators and growth marketers, this dramatically slashes the cost of creative testing. Scaling localized ad hooks across international markets without renting a studio or hiring voice actors was already compelling; batching it inside a Flow node makes it genuinely scalable.

That said, talking-head video is still primarily talking heads. While keeping facial identity consistent across angles is a welcome improvement, these clips are still largely static portraits driven by lip movement. If you need dynamic body language or complex physical interaction, this won't replace a real camera yet. But for churn-and-burn paid social ads and simple educational explainer clips, it is a very sharp weapon.
