Lawyers spend half their lives buried in dense PDFs and briefs. Now, Harvey wants them to just talk it out.

ElevenLabs just announced a partnership with legal AI platform Harvey to bring spoken intelligence into the legal sector. Powered by ElevenLabs’ text-to-speech and speech-to-text engines, Harvey will soon speak and listen in dozens of languages, dialects, and accents.

From reading briefs to mock trials

Rolling out in phases, the integration starts by letting Harvey read out answers audibly in almost any dialect.

Down the road, things get more ambitious. The roadmap includes real-time voice mode, multilingual translation, custom tones, and spoken trial simulations designed to help attorneys practice their oral arguments out loud.

Why it matters

Having an AI read legal citations aloud is nice for attorneys on the go, but it is hardly a reason to switch workflows right now.

The real hook here is spoken trial simulation. Mock trials and oral argument prep usually require expensive hours from senior partners. If Harvey can roleplay an adversarial judge or a skeptical panel with realistic tone and accents, it turns an office research tool into a sparring partner.

That said, the legal field has zero margin for error. A minor transcription hiccup on a Latin maxim or statute number can derail an argument, so ElevenLabs' speech recognition will need to prove it is bulletproof before anyone trusts it with a real case.
