DeepSeek drops V3.2 and reasoning-heavy Speciale models
DeepSeek just launched DeepSeek-V3.2 and DeepSeek-V3.2-Speciale, two reasoning-first models built specifically for AI agents. The standard V3.2 is now live across its app, web interface, and API, while the higher-end Speciale reasoning model is currently limited to the API.

Running AI agents usually hits a wall when tasks demand multi-step logic and tool use, causing models to hallucinate or simply lose the plot.
Built for agent workflows
DeepSeek has officially rolled out DeepSeek-V3.2 and DeepSeek-V3.2-Speciale, describing them as reasoning-first models built specifically for agents. Alongside the announcement, the team dropped a technical report detailing the work.
DeepSeek-V3.2 serves as the official successor to the earlier experimental V3.2-Exp. It is now live across DeepSeek's web interface, mobile app, and API for immediate use.
Meanwhile, DeepSeek-V3.2-Speciale is designed to push the boundaries of reasoning capabilities even further. For now, DeepSeek is keeping this heavy-duty variant API-only, targeting advanced automated workflows and complex problem-solving.
Why it matters
Agent builders have long struggled to balance fast chat completions with genuine multi-step planning. By framing these models around agent reasoning, DeepSeek is directly targeting developers who need reliable decision-making rather than just casual conversation.
We think the two-tier release strategy is clever. Putting V3.2 across consumer apps gives everyday users an immediate upgrade, while restricting the experimental Speciale to the API lets developers stress-test the upper limits of reasoning without overwhelming public infrastructure.
