DaVinci Resolve 19 exits beta packed with AI tools
Blackmagic Design just officially released DaVinci Resolve 19 alongside its iPad update. The release packs in over 100 upgrades and new AI features, including IntelliTrack AI tracking, text-based speaker editing, and Fairlight AI audio panning to video. It brings automated heavy lifting straight to your video editing timeline.

After months of testing since its April reveal, DaVinci Resolve 19 is officially out of beta. The full software is now available to download, and DaVinci Resolve for iPad (v19) has also landed on the App Store.
The release packs over 100 upgrades alongside a fresh batch of AI-powered tools.
Cutting by text and grading on the fly
The biggest workflow shift comes to the edit page, where editors can now work directly with auto-transcribed audio to identify speakers and cut timeline clips without scrubbing through hours of footage.
Colorists get the new ColorSlice six-vector palette and a Film Look Creator effect that simulates photometric film processes. On top of that, Blackmagic added IntelliTrack AI, Ultra NR noise reduction, new multipoly rotoscoping, and Fairlight AI audio panning to video.
There is also live sync with Blackmagic Cloud. Cameras can upload footage straight into a Resolve bin while recording, meaning editors and colorists can literally start cutting while the camera is still rolling.
Why it matters
We think Blackmagic nailed the practical side of AI here. Instead of chasing flashy generative media, they focused purely on eliminating post-production friction.
For solo creators and small teams, text-based editing and built-in film emulation save hours of repetitive work. For production houses, the live camera-to-cloud sync fundamentally changes turnaround times on set.
By tying powerful free-and-perpetual software directly to its cloud and camera hardware, Blackmagic continues to make Adobe's monthly subscription model look increasingly tough to swallow.
