Cua open-sources a small model that fills forms in one pass
Cua just open-sourced CUA-S1-FORMS, the first in its family of small, specialized models built for computer use. Instead of clicking through fields one step at a time, it processes entire forms in a single pass using four core actions and field values pulled from a document. The release is MIT-licensed with the model, dataset, and code all public.

CUA-S1-FORMS is an open-source small model built specifically to automate form filling. Developed by Cua, it is the first release in their System One Models family, a collection of lightweight, specialized models built for computer use.
How it works
Instead of moving through input fields step by step like general-purpose computer use agents typically do, CUA-S1-FORMS processes an entire form in a single pass. It pulls the necessary field values directly from a supplied document and decides between four core actions: FILL, CHECK, CLICK, or SKIP.
The project is fully open under the MIT license. Cua made the repository, model weights, and dataset publicly available on GitHub, complete with synthetic data generation pipelines, training scripts, evaluation setups, and integration with Cua Driver.
Why it matters
If you are building automation pipelines for repetitive data entry, this is worth checking out. Relying on giant frontier models to slowly click through forms is both expensive and slow; using a lightweight, task-specific model that does the job in one pass makes far more sense.
We think Cua's approach here is practical. Breaking down computer use into specialized System One tasks—and narrowing the action space to four discrete operations—cuts unnecessary overhead and gives developers a much more modular component for UI automation.
