CoreWeave signs Anthropic to power Claude models
CoreWeave just inked a multi-year deal with Anthropic to provide cloud infrastructure for training and deploying Claude models, with compute coming online later this year. The partnership means nine of the world's top ten AI model builders now run on CoreWeave, cementing its position as the go-to alternative to legacy cloud giants.

CoreWeave just locked down one of the biggest fish in frontier AI.
The AI hyperscaler announced a multi-year deal with Anthropic to power both the development and production deployment of the Claude model family. The dedicated compute will start lighting up later this year, kicking off with an initial phased rollout designed to scale aggressively over time.
With Anthropic on board, CoreWeave now hosts infrastructure for nine of the world's top ten AI model makers. That is an absurd market grip for a company that only went public on the Nasdaq in March 2025.
Specialization beats general-purpose cloud
Anthropic will be migrating production-scale workloads onto CoreWeave rather than treating it merely as an experimental sandbox. CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator put it plainly: the game is no longer just about hoarding GPUs, but about the specialized software and networking stack that turns raw silicon into real-world uptime.
To back that claim up, CoreWeave highlighted its benchmark flexes, including top-tier MLPerf marks and being the only cloud provider to secure Platinum ratings across both SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX 1.0 and 2.0 evaluations.
Why it matters
This partnership says far more about the state of AI infrastructure than just another client win.
Anthropic already has massive, multi-billion-dollar strategic alliances with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud. Tapping a third-party, specialized cloud provider like CoreWeave proves that even the most well-backed labs cannot afford to rely on a single ecosystem for mission-critical production traffic. Multi-cloud redundancy is no longer optional when frontier models face unrelenting enterprise demand.
For Claude users and developers building on its API, this expansion should bring much-needed relief. Latency hiccups and rate limits during peak hours usually boil down to datacenter capacity constraints, and adding an optimized fleet later this year gives Anthropic far more breathing room.
We think this also delivers a sharp reality check to legacy cloud giants. Having nine of the top ten AI builders running on CoreWeave proves that bespoke, end-to-end AI cluster engineering is beating out one-size-fits-all public cloud platforms where it counts most.
