Claude gets a team plan and an iPhone app
Anthropic just launched a new Claude Team plan alongside its first official iOS app. The team tier costs $30 per seat per month (with a 5-seat minimum), unlocking higher usage limits, full Claude 3 model access, and a 200K context window. The free mobile app brings seamless chat sync and direct photo analysis to your phone.
If you have been using Claude 3 Opus for deep work or coding, you probably know the pain: there was no mobile app, and if your team wanted to use it together, everyone had to expense their own individual Pro subscription.
Anthropic just rolled out two major updates to fix both issues: its first-ever official iOS app and a new Team subscription plan.
The iOS app puts Claude in your pocket
Until now, mobile access meant struggling with mobile web browsers.
The new Claude iOS app is completely free to download on the Apple App Store for all users, whether you are on the free tier, Pro, or the new Team plan.
It features seamless chat history syncing with the web version, so you can pick up complex conversations right where you left off.
It also takes full advantage of mobile hardware. You can snap a photo directly from your camera, pick images from your camera roll, or upload files for real-time visual analysis and contextual questions on the go.
Team plan arrives with higher limits and admin tools
Alongside the app, Anthropic officially introduced its Claude Team plan to court businesses.
The plan costs $30 per user per month, with a minimum requirement of 5 seats, putting the starting price for a workspace at $150 per month.
In exchange, team members get significantly higher usage limits compared to the standard $20 Pro plan, minimizing the chances of hitting conversational bottlenecks during heavy work sessions.
Subscribers get access to the entire Claude 3 family—Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku—backed by the massive 200K context window for analyzing dense legal contracts, long research papers, or large code bases.
Workspace admins also gain dedicated tools to manage seat assignments and consolidate billing into a single invoice.
Anthropic also promised more collaboration features in the coming weeks, such as source citations to verify claims, integrations with code repositories and CRMs, and shared document iteration with teammates.
Why it matters
For daily Claude users, the iOS app is an immediate win. Being able to photograph a whiteboard, upload documents from your phone, and sync conversations across devices makes Claude vastly more practical outside the office.
For companies, the Team plan is a sensible upgrade if you already have multiple employees paying for Claude Pro. At $30 a seat with a 5-user minimum, it removes individual reimbursement friction and gives teams higher capacity.
We think Anthropic is smartly addressing its biggest distribution gaps. Claude 3 gained immense traction among developers and researchers, but Anthropic was lagging behind OpenAI in mobile convenience and enterprise software infrastructure.
By launching a native mobile app and team management tools, Anthropic is finally meeting business users where they work. However, Android users are still left waiting, and the most compelling enterprise workflow tools—like CRM connectors and collaborative document editing—are still on the coming-soon list.
