CapCut brings Dreamina Seedance 2.0 to the U.S.

CapCut is bringing its newest AI video capabilities straight into the timeline.

Seedance 2.0 hits the U.S.

CapCut has officially rolled out Dreamina Seedance 2.0 in the United States across mobile, desktop, and web platforms. Instead of jumping to an external site, creators can access the model directly inside CapCut's app in the AI Lab on version 17.1.0, through the AI Video tab on app and desktop, or via Video Studio on the web.

Every user gets one free trial of the new model across supported platforms. To fuel adoption, CapCut is also offering new users a limited-time 90% discount on their first month of CapCut Pro, alongside a quick social promo giving away 1,000 credits.

CapCut noted that the rollout may take some time to reach all users as it partners with creative communities to iterate on the model.

Why it matters

Standalone AI video generators are fun to play with, but moving raw clips into an editing suite is where friction usually kills momentum. We think embedding Seedance 2.0 directly into CapCut's editing interface gives ByteDance a massive distribution advantage over standalone competitors.

For creators and casual editors, a 90% off Pro trial lowers the barrier to see if the new model can reliably speed up everyday video production. The real test, however, will be credit economy and output consistency: a single free generation hooks people, but keeping them paying once the promo period ends requires rock-solid rendering quality.
