Bolt turns text prompts into native mobile apps

Published Reach 39

Bolt just rolled out native mobile app support on its platform, letting creators go from a text prompt straight to the App Store without writing any code. It effectively brings vibe coding directly to mobile software development.

Building quick web tools with AI prompts is already standard practice, but Bolt now wants that same prompt to land directly inside your pocket.

AI development platform Bolt.new announced native mobile app support.

According to the platform, creators can now take an idea all the way to the App Store simply by chatting with Bolt, requiring zero coding experience.

From a prompt straight to the App Store

Until now, browser-based coding tools like Bolt have lived almost entirely within the confines of web dashboards and frontend prototypes.

Expanding directly into native mobile implies that UI layout, application logic, and packaging for mobile operating systems can all be triggered through conversational instructions.

Bolt has not yet detailed the underlying engine powering this feature, such as whether it relies on frameworks like React Native or Flutter, nor has it clarified how automated submissions will navigate Apple's developer portal.

Why it matters

For non-technical founders and indie creators, packaging and shipping a native mobile app has always carried a much steeper learning curve than launching a website. If Bolt can genuinely smooth out the pipeline to an App Store build, testing quick product hypotheses suddenly becomes dramatically faster.

That said, we think the biggest hurdle will still be Apple's review team. App Store guidelines around privacy, functional novelty, and code security are notoriously strict. Until real-world builders prove that AI-generated apps can reliably clear submission reviews, this feels more like a supercharged mobile prototyping engine than an effortless store deployment pipeline.
