Anthropic brings Salesforce directly into Claude
Anthropic just launched Salesforce in Claude, a new beta plugin packing 37 sales skills to automate daily CRM chores. Connected with Salesforce and Slack, Claude can prep call briefs, score deals, draft follow-ups, and update CRM records with a single click. The tool is now available across all paid Claude plans.
Ask any B2B account executive what they hate most about their day, and the answer is rarely talking to customers. It is the administrative slog after the call: hunting through Slack threads, digging up old email chains, and manually updating CRM stages.
Anthropic wants to take over that homework. The AI maker just launched Salesforce in Claude in public beta, a native plugin built alongside Salesforce that embeds CRM pipelines, deal scoring, and account research directly into Claude.
Available to all paid Claude tiers, the tool comes packed with 37 dedicated sales skills. Early enterprise adopters include GitLab, Siemens, Legora, and 7,000 of Salesforce’s own sellers.
Turning CRM grunt work into chat prompts
The integration relies on two primary bridges: a Salesforce connector and a Slack connector. Once an administrator enables access, a setup skill tailors an interactive Claude Artifact specifically to the seller’s role and territory.
Daily routines get trimmed down quickly. Every morning, Claude generates a brief covering scheduled calls, closing deals, at-risk opportunities, and unanswered messages across Slack and email. Come Friday, it drafts a weekly progress update ready for the sales manager.
Pre-meeting prep happens in a single prompt. Claude synthesizes open opportunities, extracts pending questions from previous calls, and flags unmapped stakeholders found in recent message threads, offering to log them as new CRM contacts.
After meetings, sellers can drop in rough notes or transcripts. Claude converts them into customer follow-up drafts, posts a summary to the designated Slack deal channel, and queues up CRM changes—such as shifting stages or adjusting close dates.
Sellers can also inspect their pipeline through interactive dashboards, while Claude scores opportunities against internal sales methodologies and generates close plans.
Read, propose, but never overwrite
Enterprises are notoriously cautious about hooking frontier models into sensitive client databases. Anthropic built this integration around existing Salesforce guardrails.
Salesforce remains the single system of record. Claude strictly inherits the user’s individual permissions, ensuring sellers only view what they are already authorized to see. Crucially, Claude operates on a draft-and-approve model: every pipeline update, close-date adjustment, or task creation requires one-click approval before syncing back to Salesforce.
For Team and Enterprise plans, Anthropic maintains its policy of not training foundation models on customer business data.
Why it matters
For account executives, this cuts down the hours spent playing administrative clerk between meetings. If you are on a paid Claude plan and use Salesforce, testing it is a no-brainer: having AI draft CRM updates with human sign-off fixes one of the biggest friction points in modern sales.
For enterprise tech, this shows how AI agents are transforming the SaaS landscape. Instead of trying to rip and replace Salesforce, Anthropic is turning Claude into the primary conversational front-end on top of it. It poses a direct threat to Microsoft Copilot’s sales features and sets a clear template for Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) in complex B2B environments.
We think keeping Salesforce as the source of truth while requiring human sign-off on writes is a smart, trust-building design. The risk, however, comes down to data hygiene: if a sales team already operates in chaotic, poorly documented Slack channels, Claude’s summaries and deal scores will inherit those same blind spots.
