Anthropic's Dispatch lets you text your desktop Claude
Anthropic just dropped Dispatch, a research preview inside Claude Cowork that keeps a persistent Claude conversation running on your computer. You can text it prompts from your phone on the go and return to finished tasks later. It essentially turns your desktop into a remote AI workstation, though you'll need Claude Desktop paired with your phone to use it.

Leaving your desk usually means pausing whatever heavy tasks your desktop AI was working on.
Anthropic's Felix Rieseberg just announced Dispatch, a new research preview rolling out across Claude Desktop and Claude Cowork designed to bridge that gap.
Remote control for your local Claude
Dispatch keeps a single, persistent conversation running directly on your computer.
Instead of being chained to your monitor, you can message Claude from your phone while on the move. Your desktop runs the task locally, and you simply return later to completed work.
To try it out, you need to download Claude Desktop and pair it with your phone via Claude Cowork.
Why it matters
Local tasks like touching file systems and running developer environments can't easily happen in a mobile browser. Instead of shrinking the workflow for a phone, Dispatch smartly turns your phone into a remote control for your desktop machine.
We think this signals a shift from AI as a browser-based chatbot to a persistent local worker quietly doing your bidding in the background. That said, since it is still in research preview, we will have to see how Anthropic handles reliability and local execution permissions over time.
