Anthropic launches Claude Design for interactive prototypes and pitch decks
Anthropic just introduced Claude Design, an Anthropic Labs product powered by the new Claude Opus 4.7 model. It turns text prompts into interactive prototypes, presentations, and landing pages that users can tweak with custom sliders and export directly to Claude Code. The tool is rolling out in research preview to paid Claude subscribers.

Turning a product sketch into a working prototype has always been a painful back-and-forth between product managers, visual designers, and front-end developers.
Anthropic wants to collapse that entire loop into a single chat window.
Under its experimental Anthropic Labs umbrella, the company just launched Claude Design, a new tool powered by the flagship Claude Opus 4.7 vision model. It lets users build working prototypes, pitch decks, landing pages, and one-pagers through conversational prompts.
Wall Street paid attention right away. Following the initial reporting, shares of Figma, Adobe, Wix, and GoDaddy fell between 2% and 5% in afternoon trading.
Sliders, design systems, and one-click code handoff
The workflow feels familiar if you have used chat-based AI, but Anthropic added several granular controls to prevent the usual guessing game.
You describe what you need, Claude serves up a draft, and you refine it through inline comments, direct text edits, or custom sliders. Claude actually builds those adjustment sliders on the fly to let you tweak spacing, colors, and layouts in real time.
To keep visual consistency intact, Claude can ingest a company's existing codebase and design files to automatically build a custom design system. Every slide or prototype generated after that follows your typography, palettes, and components out of the box.
Inputs are flexible. The tool accepts prompts, images, DOCX, PPTX, and XLSX files, as well as live website captures. Anthropic says teams can even build rich frontier designs that incorporate shaders, 3D graphics, audio, and embedded AI directly into prototypes.
Once a layout looks good, users can export to PPTX, PDF, standalone HTML, or Canva. But the real hook is developer handoff: Claude packages the entire project into a clean bundle that passes directly to Claude Code for instant implementation.
Why it matters
We think Anthropic made a very clever bet here: rather than competing to make prettier static mockups, Claude Design targets the friction between ideation and production.
Most generative design toys spit out static mockups that developers have to rebuild from scratch. By linking prompt-driven prototypes directly with Claude Code, Anthropic is turning rough concepts into functional web assets in a single workflow. For founders, marketers, and product teams, this dramatically lowers the barrier to shipping campaign landing pages and product flows without waiting weeks for design bandwidth.
For incumbent software players like Figma, Canva, and Vercel's v0, this is a serious shot across the bow. When the frontier model provider packages design ideation and code generation natively into existing subscriptions, specialized tools face immense pressure to justify their standalone costs.
That said, Claude Design is currently in research preview for paid Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, with enterprise access disabled by default. Whether it can handle complex, multi-state enterprise design tokens without degrading into generic layouts will be the real test for everyday teams.
