Andrew Ng's new open-source agent delivers finished work on Mac

OpenWorker is an open-source Mac agent built by Andrew Ng and Rohit Prasad that actually delivers finished deliverables rather than just chatting back and forth.

What it can do

Instead of just giving you advice in a chat box, it works across your local files and everyday work tools. You can tell it to prepare a customer brief, untangle a messy calendar, draft a full report, or triage incoming alerts on Slack. It hands you a polished document or executes the action directly.

To keep the agent from going rogue, OpenWorker checks in with you for confirmation before taking any consequential action.

It also avoids model lock-in by letting you bring your own API key. You can point it to GPT 5.6 Sol, Claude Fable, Gemini 3.6, or open-weight models like DeepSeek, Kimi, and GLM. If you want maximum privacy, you can run it completely offline on your Mac through Ollama. Your data stays on your machine unless sent through the specific providers you choose. The code is available on GitHub, and Windows support is on the way.
