Alibaba drops Wan2.7-Image for unified generation and editing
Alibaba just launched Wan2.7-Image, a unified model that combines image generation, editing, and understanding. It renders print-quality text across 12 languages, offers precise facial and HEX color controls, and outputs up to 12 consistent images per prompt, solving a major headache for multi-panel creators.

Generating a comic strip or marketing layout with AI usually means dealing with drifting characters, scrambled text, and endless prompt re-rolls.
Alibaba just launched Wan2.7-Image, a unified model designed to handle generation, editing, and image understanding under one roof.
Fine control meets batch consistency
The new model brings a noticeable upgrade in control. It offers fine-tuned adjustments for facial bone structure, eyes, and contours, alongside exact HEX color palette inputs and color extraction from reference images.
On typography, Wan2.7-Image supports 3K-token print-quality text rendering across 12 languages. Users can perform interactive edits using visual instructions on their images, and generate up to 12 consistent images from a single prompt.
Why it matters
For storyboard artists, webcomic creators, and global marketing teams, maintaining consistency across multiple panels while keeping legible text has long been a dealbreaker. Alibaba tackled both in one shot.
In our view, turning generation and precision editing into a single unified model is a smart, productivity-focused move. If Alibaba makes this widely accessible, competing image generation platforms will feel the heat to match its consistency features.
