Interactive 3D product showcases made entirely with AI video
Designer AmirMushich just open-sourced a clever technique to create interactive, rotatable web product pages without 3D modeling. The method generates a spinning video from reference images using LTX-2.5 Pro, splits it into about 30 frames, and controls playback via JavaScript based on cursor movement. Why it matters: E-commerce brands can build sleek pseudo-3D product showcases with zero 3D modeling overhead or runtime AI costs.
It lets you turn a handful of ordinary product photos into a smooth, interactive 360-degree showcase on the web without touching 3D software.
How it works
Instead of rendering heavy 3D assets in the browser, the workflow turns an AI-generated spinning video into programmable web assets.
First, reference images of an item (like the front and profile of a garment) are fed into LTX-2.5 Pro to generate a seamless turntable rotation video. That video is then sliced into roughly 30 transparent frames. From there, a lightweight JavaScript snippet listens to mouse movements or touch drags, scrubbing forward or backward through the frame sequence in real time.
Because everything is pre-rendered, the site never needs a bulky 3D engine, nor does it make costly runtime API calls to AI models. It runs fast, feels completely fluid, and works across apparel, footwear, bags, designer toys, and home decor.
Why it matters
For indie creators, e-commerce marketers, and front-end devs, this is a brilliant shortcut. True 3D asset creation is notoriously expensive and time-consuming, while heavy 3D engines often bog down mobile browsers.
This approach smartly trades true 3D camera freedom for lightweight speed and visual polish. You won't get dynamic multi-axis camera panning, but for a punchy product launch page that grabs attention, it delivers 90% of the visual payoff at a fraction of the build cost.
