Adobe adds Runway Aleph and Marey to Firefly Boards

Adobe just integrated Runway Aleph and Moonvalley's Marey video models directly into Firefly Boards. Creators can now tap into these third-party video models right inside their Adobe workspace, and the company plans to keep expanding the roster based on community requests.

Moodboarding used to mean pinning still photos, color swatches, and tear sheets onto a shared board. Today, static images barely cut it when pitching dynamic concepts.

Adobe just added third-party generative video models into Firefly Boards, its collaborative ideation workspace. The rollout brings Runway's Aleph, Moonvalley's Marey, and Luma AI's Ray3 directly onto the canvas.

Three video engines on one board

Instead of juggling multiple tabs and downloading clips across different services, creative teams can now trigger distinct video engines directly inside Boards.

Adobe's Kris Kashtanova shared that a favorite workflow involves using green screen video animations to direct camera motion directly within the tool.

Alongside the video integrations, Adobe rolled out a few workflow upgrades, including a Describe Image tool for reverse-engineering prompts, ready-made visual presets, and in-image text editing.

Boards is currently available in more than 30 countries, but video generation is not free.

Access requires either a paid Firefly premium tier or a Creative Cloud plan with generative credits. Pricing starts at $9.99 per month for 2,000 credits, but video rendering burns through points quickly, meaning entry-level tiers will only yield a handful of short clips.

Why it matters

For art directors, video producers, and agencies, having Runway, Luma, and Moonvalley side-by-side inside a single board eliminates serious friction during early-stage pre-visualization.

Pitching concepts to clients just got substantially faster, though individual creators should be mindful of the credit burn before jumping on the baseline $9.99 plan.

Strategically, this is a very sharp play by Adobe. Generative video is evolving too quickly for any single lab to monopolize quality.

Instead of betting solely on in-house research, Adobe is positioning Firefly Boards as the workflow aggregator where creators orchestrate multiple models.

It neutralizes the threat of startups like Runway by turning them into featured suppliers, while keeping Adobe firmly at the center of the creative pipeline.
