Accenture and Anthropic just announced a major partnership expansion, forming a dedicated business group and training roughly 30,000 consultants on Claude. The consulting giant is also rolling out Claude Code to tens of thousands of its developers, aiming directly at regulated industries like finance and healthcare to move AI experiments into production.

Big companies have spent the past two years running AI pilots, but very few have figured out how to roll them out to thousands of employees without breaking legacy systems.

Anthropic and IT consulting titan Accenture just announced a major multi-year strategic partnership to solve that exact bottleneck. According to The Wall Street Journal and TechCrunch, the deal spans three years, though financial terms remain undisclosed.

30,000 consultants and a coding powerhouse

As part of the agreement, the two companies are launching a dedicated Accenture Anthropic Business Group. Around 30,000 Accenture professionals will be trained on Claude, building what they claim to be one of the largest Claude enterprise workforces in the world.

Accenture is also giving Claude Code to tens of thousands of its own developers. According to recent data from Menlo Ventures, Anthropic now commands 54% of the enterprise AI coding market and 40% of the overall enterprise generative AI market, up from 32% this past summer.

The partnership's first joint offering is built specifically for CIOs looking to measure AI ROI. It pairs Claude Code with Accenture’s workflow redesign and productivity frameworks, helping companies ship software faster while keeping tabs on real returns.

They are also zeroing in on heavily regulated industries like banking, healthcare, life sciences, and the public sector. To ease compliance anxieties, Global 2000 clients can test solutions inside Accenture Innovation Hubs before touching live production environments.

Anthropic's enterprise land grab

This deal isn't happening in a vacuum. Anthropic has been aggressively locking up enterprise distribution channels in recent months, following a $200 million deal with Snowflake last week and major alliances with Deloitte and IBM in October.

Claude also benefits from a rare multi-cloud posture, being the only frontier model available natively across AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Azure.

Why it matters

Selling frontier models directly to Fortune 500 enterprises is hard because large corporations rarely deploy cutting-edge tech without third-party integration support.

We think partnering deeply with system integrators like Accenture is a brilliant go-to-market move for Anthropic. Instead of building a massive internal enterprise sales and integration arm, Anthropic is turning 30,000 seasoned consultants into its frontline deployment army. For enterprise clients, this drastically reduces the friction of moving from messy internal pilots to scaled production.

This also puts serious pressure on OpenAI. While OpenAI still dominates consumer mindshare, Anthropic is quickly becoming the default engine for enterprise engineering teams and highly regulated verticals, backed by a 54% coding market share.

The real test will be whether enterprise consulting projects translate into long-term API usage rather than one-off restructuring fees. But for now, Anthropic is cementing its lead where the biggest enterprise checks are written.
